What You Most Loved in 2019

2019: The year in review...

In times of uncertainty, we look for answers… and Google knows it all. In 2019, “plant based” was the most searched in recipes, followed closely by “beef stroganoff”. We lost the legendary Bob Hawke and saw ScoMo scoot into Cabinet. Grumpy Cat passed away and Meghan Markle birthed a royal. Greta Thunberg’s climate change plea made Trump hot under the collar, yet we still don’t know why Madonna wore an eyepatch. An egg got a colossal 54 million likes on Instagram and helped raise mental-health awareness. At Early Settler, we’ve got our own digital footprint with a story to tell. Here’s what you most loved in 2019.

House Rules

Channel 7’s House Rules featured a selection of our furniture and homewares in their snazzy renovations. The Carson leather sofa, Salu side table and Fulham dining chair the most popular pieces and the Cervino Brix the Bunny cushion was snapped across Australia.

What We Loved About 2019 with the Carson

Furnishing faves

Our most coveted outdoor furniture overall for the year were the Marson table, Tivoli gazebo, Kanto castor table and the enormously popular Manette dining chair. The bestselling Early Settler sofas of 2019 were the Slouch, Minimalist sectional and the Lisette in plush indigo velvet. What you loved most in the dining room were the Fulham dining table, Matera marble top table and Provincial cross back chair in all three colours: oak, white and black. The ever-popular queen Manor in white, queen Trentham and queen Clover were the most snoozed-upon beds. And the Fulham range stole the show with the best sales in shelving units, TV stands and desks. The Suva DC fan with LED light and Alto freestanding bath proved to be the most popular across the country.

Hottest homewares

In homewares, Australia most adored the Ashika glass top side table, which flew of the shelves all year. The Peacock lamp outsold all other lamps by almost double and the Iris mirror, Australian Cockatoo canvas print, Galleries Blue and White Floral Collection framed canvas and the sumptuous Luxe dog bed were also snapped up. Our new Treasures collection of homewares also proved exceedingly popular with everything from playful prints to quirky cushions. We will have plenty of fresh new additions to the collection in 2020 including more tropical treats and a storybook theme.
