Decadent Art Deco design

Originating in France in 1920s, Art Deco design is one of the most recognisable styles in the world today. The term came from a 1925 Paris exhibition (Parisian Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes), which was abbreviated to Art Deco, hence a style was born that defined the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s and influenced the decades to follow. Inspiring visual arts, architecture and design, some of the key elements that epitomise an Art Deco interior are bold colours, geometric lines, curvaceous forms, lavish ornamentation, luxe materials like velvet, and metallics.
