Outdoor Furniture Style Trends for 2019

Given our balmy climate and long love affair with the outdoors, it’s not surprising that more than ever Aussies are making their outdoor areas an extension of their interior living spaces. French doors and bi-folds allow living rooms to spill directly out to decks and terraces. This indoor–outdoor layout adds considerable value to homes and is a lifestyle trend that’s here to stay. Even more so, the nation is also embracing their outdoor-decorating flair. Monica Porter, our Early Settler buyer, has unearthed the hottest outdoor furniture style trends for 2019.

Holiday At Home

“It’s all about the extension of your living area into your outdoor space,” says Monica. “People are aspiring for that holiday-at-home vibe to relax with the family.” Whether you’re having a ‘staycation’ or just wanting to create a holiday feel, take inspiration from tropical locations and five-star hotels. The Byron day bed will transport you to the poolside of a laidback resort. Top it with a few colourful cushions adorned with palm leaves and birds of paradise. BACK TO NATURE

Earthy materials — particularly those with an eco-friendly agenda — are becoming more sought-after than ever. Richly grained hardwood, reclaimed timbers, the rattan look and soft neutral tones are the trend in outdoor living spaces. Marble and concrete-look dining tables like the Hayman also bring the metro vibe to outdoor areas and can be stylishly paired with any chair.
