Early Settler’s summer 21/22 outdoor furniture collection takes alfresco living to the next level with comfortable pieces that blur the line between indoor and outdoor living and blend more cohesively with nature. From brunch to barbecues, working from home to working out, the way Australians use their outdoor areas has evolved dramatically to become extensions of the home.

“As we’re spending more time at home and are less able to travel, it’s become a much bigger priority to transform outdoor spaces to create paradise in our own backyards,” says Early Settler buyer Mamta Johal.

“The biggest trend in outdoor furniture and accessories we’re seeing this year is the blurring of the lines between indoor and outdoor living with alfresco areas that spill straight off living zones. It’s such an easy way to add square footage to homes to relax and entertain outside or even bring the laptop out to work in the open air.”

Mamta says the key to uniting indoor and outdoor spaces is to add rugs, cushions and lots of potted plants. “It creates such as sense of luxury outdoors and makes the deck or patio feel like an extension of the living room.”

Connection with nature

This year’s range focuses on a greater connection with the outside world with a larger selection of natural materials, reclaimed timbers and earthy tones from eucalyptus green to sky blue.

“Adding hints of retro-inspired accents was also key inspiration,” says Mamta. “You can create the ultimate modern outdoor space with a nostalgic feel that brings you back to a simpler life.”
