We selected some of our favourite stylists from across the country and challenged them with a room makeover. For week 2 of our style challenge, we chose Deb Saunders from The Block.
Located in New South Wales, Deb was in the 2019 series of The Block. She now owns and runs a fashion and homewares store, The Shed Luxe, with her sisters Cal and Sue on the mid-north coast of NSW.
For our style challenge, Deb was tasked by Maddi Wright with creating a luxurious space. The rules? It must be ‘warm for winter and includes storage’, using the Stitch Velvet Sofa in olive green as her hero.
“Oooh! It’s the Stitch sofa in olive green. This isn’t a style I have here at home… it’s going to be a great challenge!” says Deb.
The results of Deb’s makeover are stunning.
Deb chose her former dining room to transform into a luxurious space in the challenge. Timber flooring, tall windows and stunning floor-to-ceiling curtains provided a beautiful foundation for her winter transformation.
Taking the room dimensions into account and the location of doors and windows, Deb drafted up a little sketch to map out the layout of her luxurious lounge to create a visual reference of exactly what she’d need to pick up from Early Settler for the style challenge.
With a few comfy pillows, a cosy throw and some feature lighting, Deb is all set to snuggle up all winter long with a book, some movies and a cheeky hot chocolate.
Deb certainly nailed this challenge with her luxurious lounge that’s warm for winter. She’s passing the challenge on to Katrina Chambers from The Block next.
Deb has tasked Katrina with creating a multifunction zone using a mystery item that Deb has selected. Just wait until you see Katrina’s reveal… it’s stylish and savvy! And don’t miss the awesome office makeover by Maddi Wright from House Rules.
