In the frenzied world of remote learning, Zoom meetings and digital overload, people are seeking an antidote to the high-tech pace of life. Slow Life is a brand-new homewares range with a focus on natural materials, muted colours and a more neutral aesthetic to invite you to exhale and gear down with this soothing style.
“This tranquil trend is all about turning off your smartphone and tuning into your hopes and wishes… streamlining your schedule and your interior by returning to natural and understated style,” says Early Settler homewares buyer, Mamta Johal.

Among the selection Mamta chose for the 2021 Slow Life collection are ceramic pot plants and stools, cushions in luscious muted hues, glass-framed prints of soothing watercolours, a rattan bell pendant and a curved rattan bedhead.
“We’re seeing a renewed appreciation for things made by hand, as well as a lot of strong textures inspired by natural and comforting materials, like rattan and soft aged velvet.”

Hard lines are softened with organic shapes on ceramics in earthy neutral colour palettes, while the rattan pendant light not only looks relaxed, it also casts a gentle light to soften interiors.
“The Slow Life trend is an invitation to slow things down and take back control of your day-to-day life,” says Mamta.
