“The velvet fabric trend is going from strength to strength and is an absolute favourite of our Early Settler customers,” says Monica Porter, furniture buyer with Early Settler. The trend really gained momentum over the last year, she explains, with so many of us spending more time at home due to the pandemic and updating home comforts.

“It’s set to become an even more popular fabric as we move into 2022,” she says. “People love its lustrous appearance, super-soft feel and practicality — it’s surprisingly durable and easy to clean.”
